Want to learn a tasty, healthy, versatile dish that once prepped can be made fresh for breakfast, lunch, or dinner for the whole week?

Dosas are savory rice & lentil crepes originating from South India that are now popular around the world. They are versatile, like tortillas, and can be eaten with any type of filling, topping, seasoning, and/or dip like potato, cheese, basil, and chutney.

Class Flow

6:30 Meet & Greet: Welcome, introductions, brief on menu and mindful eating
6:45 Cooking: Demonstration of menu with participant hands-on sessions 
7:45 Dinner: Silent, mindful eating with fellow participants
8:05 Sharing: Voluntary sharing about the mindful cooking & eating experience

Cooking expanded: We will demonstrate how to make a tasty and healthy Green Smoothie. Next, we’ll make Tomato Chutney and Sambar lentil soup – both of which are enjoyed with Dosa and Uttapam. We’ll then make the potato filing for a Masala Dosa followed by a demonstration of how to make dosa batter. Finally, we’ll make a Masala Dosa and Tomato Uttapam using that batter.  After the demonstration, each class participant will make and enjoy one dosa and one uttapam in pairs, adding any toping they like. 

All the foods in this class follow a WFPB dietary lifestyle. Nutrition science has proven that a WFPB dietary lifestyle can prevent, and reverse, many chronic diseases. Learn all the benefits of this lifestyle on the Why? page. All dishes are gluten free. As far as possible, we try to use organic, seasonal, and local ingredients.

Contribution

Regular Rate: $65 per person

Early Bird Discounted Rate: $50 per person till February 26, 2020.
Note: Please pay before the Early Bird date ends (midnight) or the regular rate will be applicable.

Low-Income Rate: $15 per person for those experiencing financial hardship. To apply, please complete this form by February 19, 2020: Scholarship form.

All 5 Rate: Register for all five classes in the Winter 2020 Mindful Cooking Series for $225 ($45 per class) till February 5, 2020.
